Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 4 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Samsara (New York, NY) em fev. de 2023
Entrevista
Applied online. About a week later, received an email to set up the initial phone call. Then I had a technical interview few days later. They got back to me with the positive feedback to move forward with the interview process. I had an on-site interview a week later. I was very excited about the onsite interview and I prepared as much as I could for the interview. For the technical interview, they had me to download some project prior to an interview. I set it up on my Windows machine. During the interview, we were going through the rest of setup for the project, however, this is where things went wrong. The command the interviewer sent me was for MacOS (Unix) and it wasn't working for the Windows. So we spent 10-15 minutes of our 45-minute interview to figure this part out, so we didn't get to finish the coding challenge. I was depressed that I prepared for this interview for a week and I failed to complete the first part of the interviews because of the environment issue to work on the coding challenge. So I lost focus for the rest of the interview process. But surprisngly I felt I did well for the rest of the interview and received some positive feedbacks. I never got to hear back regarding the next step / overall feedback after on-site interview. Part of me thinking that since it was a competitive position, failing to finish the first part of interview costed me not being selected. Every single person that was involved for the interview process was friendly and nice. I had to give a negative feedback for this review because of the environment issue that wasn't part of my skill assessment impacted my interview.

One of the worst interview experience that I had, the interviewer came more than 5 mins late. Then he gave me a question to solve and then straight away got busy on his phone. Some of the decisions that we
Only had an initial call with a frankly clueless recruiter. Could tell me very little about the role, what I would be working on, or even the tech stack. Interrupted me constantly and kept asking me if I had any more questions when she couldn't even answer the few I did have. Probably the worst HR phone screen I've ever had, and I've had a few.
Recruiter round was smooth and professional. However, the technical interview didn’t match what was described. The prep materials clearly said no Leetcode, and focused on Samsara's system related.
I prepared accordingly, but the interview ended up being a standard Leetcode medium. Disappointed by the mismatch — if algorithm questions are preferred, let candidates know.
