Entrevista
Samsara uses Brighthire for interviews where they record your answers. The process takes about 1 month , mostly due to interviewer's unavailability, or delaying in gathering feedback. There are 6 rounds mostly except the last one with HR if you clear all the 6 rounds. You will have a good experience with all 5 interview rounds until you reach the 6th with a Sr Director. Unfortunately the feedback given by him was based on something which he did not ask in the interview and his body language seemed quite disengaging and uninterested during the entire 30 mins like yawning multiple times , checking phone. It could be one of a kind situation but it was quite saddening to see that kind of attitude from leadership specially you have sincerely prepared and given a lot of time to know about Samsara. It is very difficult to understand what he is expecting as his expectation was not very much aligned with other interviewers and the questions being asked. While scheduling interviews , they mention the topics to prepare and asks to be aligned with company's values , but in the last round the questions deviated from these topics and were focused more on Automation strategy which seemed quite irrelevant looking at the title they were providing and the kind of questions being asked in former interview rounds. Looks like there is mismatch of expectation between the other interviewers and the Sr director. This is a request to keep this transparency of expectation right from the beginning of the interview so that the candidate do have not go through these many rounds only to get rejected in the end.

Only had an initial call with a frankly clueless recruiter. Could tell me very little about the role, what I would be working on, or even the tech stack. Interrupted me constantly and kept asking me if I had any more questions when she couldn't even answer the few I did have. Probably the worst HR phone screen I've ever had, and I've had a few.
Recruiter round was smooth and professional. However, the technical interview didn’t match what was described. The prep materials clearly said no Leetcode, and focused on Samsara's system related.
I prepared accordingly, but the interview ended up being a standard Leetcode medium. Disappointed by the mismatch — if algorithm questions are preferred, let candidates know.
