I was contacted by a "sourcer" who found me via my jobsite profile and was interested in discussing a hybrid accounting roll. I had seen this position posted for a few months already. I advised the "sourcer" that I had seen this posting, however had not inquired about it as I was strictly looking for a remote position. The "sourcer" went ahead anyway and scheduled a call to discuss the role further... During the call it was apparent that this person was very new to this type of position and not very qualified. I needed to explain and reiterate my qualifications and job duties several times. Each time as he read back to me what I had provided in regards to specific job duties he could not get it right nor match it up with the particular company ..I have worked for some first rate and well know companies and it appeared that he had never heard of them... ok that's fine, however doing some due diligence on a potential candidate and have some basic knowledge of the position you are filling. The call was quite frustrating, and I said to myself that what we discussed would not get conveyed correctly to the next person in the interview process... That was the first warning flag that I made note of... I advised again that I was looking for a strictly remote role and would not accept the hybrid setup indicated in the job posting. I confirmed that I would understand if this disqualified me for this position - the "sourcer" advised he would pass that bit of info along and then stated the department manager was "picky"...that was already obviously to me since the job posting was out there for quite some time. Flag #2 I inquired about the interview process and how long it would take...there would be four rounds including eight people... Eight people in the interview process for a mid-management position??? Flag #3 Finally, I provided (as requested by the "sourcer") a few dates on the calendar to meet with the next round... I then specifically asked not to be ghosted and to send me a quick note just to let me know that I would not continue with the interview process...Was told no worries and he would let me know... After the call, I promptly sent my resume as requested and thanked the person for the call and their time… Over 3 weeks have passed and nothing, have not heard back. Just rude and unacceptable. I did not and will not waste my time reaching out, begging for an update. I had already moved on by day three after the original call. This behavior of not having the courtesy of reaching out to candidates after interviews is unprofessional and should indicate to a potential job seeker as to the culture and practices of such companies. Other companies I have applied to have extended this courtesy and is much appreciated.
