Recruiter contacted me and phone interviews were set up. I talked with two project managers and their manager. I was invited for an in-person interview with 4 people and asked to prepare a market study to discuss . I arrived and immediately everyone knew I was an "older worker" and it was a quietly uncomfortable interview process for all. All questions pertained to the study to see how I think and then a behavioral interview by one project manager who asked "how do you communicate authentically", one of the tenets of the Samsung Next culture. It immediately confirmed that Samsung Next is one of the many monocultures in Silicon Valley perhaps in more ways than one. I knew when I left I would not be asked back and that was the outcome. In fairness to all concerned, the recruiter and Samsung Next should have spent more time looking at my LinkedIn profile and I should have left the in-person interview early.
