The interview process itself was reasonable, though the overall recruitment experience was highly disappointing. After an initial call with the recruiter, I participated in a screening round with the hiring manager, which included a 10-minute presentation and a 40-minute discussion of my resume. The final interview loop consisted of a 45-minute presentation and five subsequent interviews. The technical questions were relatively straightforward. While the interviews were fair in scope and content, the conduct of the recruitment team left a negative impression. After completing six hours of final interviews, I received no further communication or feedback—effectively being ghosted. As a Ph.D. holder, I am well-acquainted with professional rejections; however, the complete lack of follow-up in this case reflects a concerning level of disregard for candidates’ time and effort. Although I might expect such treatment after an initial screening, it is unacceptable from a company of Samsung’s stature following a full interview loop. This experience demonstrated a lack of professionalism and respect for applicants. Consequently, I will not be pursuing any future opportunities with Samsung Research America and will advise my peers and colleagues to exercise caution when considering roles there.
