I had applied online and a recruiter got in touch with me. I had a phone interview scheduled but the interviewer was busy. I checked in with the recruiter after waiting for 30 minutes and she sorted it out. The interviewer called in and went over my resume. I explained my projects in full detail answering the technical details to the best of my ability. He asked if I had any questions. I inquired about the details of the role and what they were looking for in the candidate. He mentioned certain algorithms and I said that I have familiarity with it. His questions that followed were extremely condescending. I could hear smirks from his end as well, which could have been avoided. He may be a very senior person and extremely knowledgeable but if there is lack of humility then it does hurt the candidate.
