Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 6 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela San Luis Obispo County, California (San Luis Obispo, CA) em nov. de 2022
Entrevista
This was one of the strangest interviews I’ve ever had, specifically because of how extremely time limited it was. I sat down before a 3-person panel, and they allowed 15 minutes max to answer 4 pre-chosen behavioral/situational questions (e.g., “Tell me about a time when…” and “How do you handle XYZ”). There were no introductions, no explanation of the role, no icebreakers. It was more like an audition than an interactive interview. As I walked back to my car I thought, “Well that was the “governmentiest” government encounter I’ve ever had. After the “interview” they have you take a timed computer test to see how well you can navigate a database and find information, followed by a typing test, and a very simple math test (4th-5th grade level). I was kind of shocked and ego-bruised when I got the email saying I didn’t make the cut, especially since they’re hiring not one but SEVENTEEN people. They’re trying to staff offices all over SLO County. My advice to applicants is to be well-prepared to answer common behavioral/situational questions. Make sure you give examples. Use the STAR method. Treat this interview like an audition. You will have very limited time to make a strong impression.
