      Completely agree with the employee who called this a bait and switch. Their job descriptions will have tons of flowery language about how whether it's your first job or your fifth, yOu CaN bRiNg VaLuE, but then they'll pass up on you for someone with "more experience," after wasting your time for a month and not bothering to get back to you by a date you explicitly made clear you needed to hear back by. It's really a shame too considering I loved everything I heard about this company, but after having nearly a month of my time wasted and being lied to about how "great" I am, obviously that opinion has soured. Let me be clear: this is NOT about being rejected, this is about wasting time and misleading candidates. Unbelievable, especially since this isn't even the original role I applied for.

      Hi there, My name is Clare, I am the Chief People Officer here at Scan.com and wanted to take a moment to reply to you. I looked into this further and understand you had initially applied for a different role in the business. I believe in showing interest in this role it was also made clear that we had just gone live with the role and there were other candidates in process. I think there are 2 main concerns here, the timeliness of a response and your comment on bait and switch. In terms of timeliness of response, we fell short here and we do apologise. However, with regard to bait and switch, unfortunately, when it came down the final candidates there was someone who was an overall better match. While it's never great to get that feedback, it is important that we make sure to get the right match first time round. We stand by the fact that regardless of first role or fifth, we think everyone can bring value, learn and grown in our business. Those words have held true from our first hire to our hundredth hire and counting. In every recruitment process there will be rejection and we are sorry that you felt you had your time wasted, regardless of whether it is a no, we never want that to be the case.
