I got contacted by the HR dept and after a couple of emails we decided to go forward and schedule a zoom call.
This first interview was pleasant, they explain you the company organization and culture and give you an overview of the product, the role and the technology involved.
The second interview was the first technical one. About one hour long. Personally, I blew it BIG TIME. I was too nervous and eager to get the role, I just panicked and my mind went black. Don’t do that. It’s not particularly hard, just some code reasoning on a hypothetical pull request, regular UIKit/Swift/iOS stuff. No stupid pointless LeetCode challenges, no tricky questions, just a real case scenario and a couple of easy questions. The interviewer was nice and not intimidating.
After a few days I received - as expected - a rejection email. It was a canned one, the usual “we selected another person, please don’t take it personally and blah blah blah”. THIS, I DID NOT LIKE IT. It just didn’t feel honest. Also, I’m quite sure the selection is still open, so please just be honest, I can take it. I mean, I wouldn’t have hired myself either, based on that interview.
