Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 4 meses. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Schmidt Futures.
Entrevista
Entire process included: screening call with recruiter, virtual interview with hiring manager, work product evaluation (analyze two science projects and propose funding program), on-site interview in NYC that included a 30 min presentation on research and 15 min presentation on work product, phone call with CEO.
The recruiter told me the process would be long and outlined the steps on the first phone call, so that was fine (although 4 months is a long time to go through an interview process). My issue with my experience with Schmidt Sciences was that they really led me on. I was told during my recruiter call that the CEO phone call was just a formality. So when I was told I had a call with the CEO, I assumed I was getting the role. Even worse was that after my call with the CEO, I received another call from the recruiter asking me about my start date, explaining how the offer process would work, and describing their moving benefits. Two days after that call I received an email saying I wasn't selected. I asked for feedback and never received a response, which is frustrating after spending a lot of time and energy on their interview process.
Looking back on my experience, I am fairly certain they knew they weren't going to hire me earlier in the process. I got the sense that I was sent to speak to the CEO so that he could feel involved and I wasn't being viewed as a serious candidate due to my research background (which they knew from my resume).
