I had a meeting with the owner, Mr. Scully. I showed up 5 minutes prior to the interview time and had the opportunity to browse the store. After waiting around 10 minutes, Mr. Scully came to escort me upstairs. We had friendly casual conversation in the elevator and sat down upstairs in a couple of the showroom chairs. The chairs were very far apart from each other, which I found awkward. Mr. Scully confirmed that I was still employed, which I confirmed I was working less than 20 hours per week. His immediate response was that this wouldn't work out, as they needed someone who could commit to 60+ hours a week, including nights and weekends. He instantly terminated the interview. The interview itself lasted less than a 1 minute and was a complete waste of my time. I'm not understanding how having a job while applying for another one is a detriment, as individuals need money in order to survive. Had I been offered the position, I would have put in my two-week's notice. The reviews are absolutely true, Mr. Scully is a rude, uncaring, and highfalutin owner who only cares that you're able to sell outrageously overpriced frog statues to New York's "elite". Avoid at all possible costs.
