Interviewed with Exec. Dir. and Clinical Svs. Dir. who were very friendly and stated their religious faith compelled them to enter the hospice field. Also explained that Seaport is fairly new in the San Diego area and owned by national company called Ensign. Interview was pretty casual but they clearly wanted inside information about the hospice I previously worked for. After almost an hour, they thanked me profusely for giving them my time and said it was their pleasure to meet with me, that I was extremely qualified for what they're looking for. I left feeling confident that I'd receive a job offer. I immediately sent them both thank-you emails, waited a week and sent a follow-up email politely asking for status. Waited another week and left phone message for Exec. Dir. I received NO response to emails or phone message. I feel that it was incredibly unprofessional for them to ignore my requests to gain information about the selection status. Very odd behavior coming from a "faith-based" organization. A simple "thanks but no thanks" email from them would've been preferable to being ignored. If they treat job applicants this rudely, how do they treat their patients?
