There is a screening phone call conducted by one employee. If you pass that, you go onto a small group interview. they did offer a remote or in-person option. It is through MS Teams. They expect you to initiate the meeting and don't tell you this. That was the second red flag. In a tech company or education environment? Sure, that's no problem. In a place where they are training newbies on tech and they don't give clear instructions? Flag it and tag it. The first red flag though was this feeling of disinterest and "tuning out" feeling I got during the screening call. She doesn't want through. She wants sound bytes. She'll tune out more than that and then try to be polite about it. As someone whose diversity expertise is in neurodiverse people it made me want to tear my hair out. The third red flag was that I asked how their offices' services were for clients with disabilities. Their answer boiled down to "We don't do that here. Try Tacoma." I felt like, "Um, don't you want to serve a broader client base?" Apparently no. The job is open again. Good luck to 'em. That has to be the first time I ever met a place where the office felt nuttier and colder than the retail side. I'm really sad about all this. I thought the one place on Earth that wouldn't have these kind of barriers would have been this organization. I'll take their advice and try Tacoma.
