Candidatei-me online. Fui entrevistado pela Segal (Chicago, IL) em jul. de 2015
Entrevista
I received a brief phone call a few months after submitting my resume, they asked a couple basic questions and then set up a in person interview. The in person interview was with HR and 3 people from the department. They normally do interviews with the department head but he was not in when I went. They asked behavioral questions and then some technical questions. The interview was about 2 hours and then I got a call for a job offer the following day.

Brief Interview with HR followed by 5 interviews with people of different levels of the company. HR interview was easy to get through but the 5 interviews were a bit more challenging.

The interview process was very chill and accommodating. It was clear that the interviewers cared about what I said, and gave valuable advice where applicable. At no point did I feel like I was grilled or had a ton of pressure.

I applied to the Actuarial Analyst position in Sibson Consulting, a division of the Segal Group. I was contacted in Fall of 2018 regarding a temporary position, transitioning to a full-time position. After a few brief back and forth emails, I heard nothing for a month and a half. I was contacted again in early 2019 asking if I was still interested and to set up a 30-minute phone interview. This was a pretty standard phone call with some general questions about your background and to describe the position and company.
I followed up a week later after not hearing back and was notified a few days later that they were in the process of finding a date to interview. The following day we set up an in-person interview at their New York office.
The in-person interview consisted of about 7 individual interviews across 4 hours. I am unsure of exactly how many and when because I was never given a formal schedule as to who all I'd be meeting and when. Each consisted off a brief introduction of themselves and what they do and an opportunity for you to do the same. Each had their own style and asked questions ranging from my own experiences to a few technical questions relating to the job's responsibilities, giving time at the end for me to ask questions. This wasn't like other interviews where those you talked with had a figurative list of questions to read off of and felt almost insincere. I enjoyed getting to meet each person I conversed with, having personal and professional conversations. Everyone was kind and the work environment appeared excellent. Some employees mentioned how I seemed like a perfect fit for the position given my resume/background. I left feeling excited at the possibility to working with such a great group of people.
After not hearing anything for a month, I reached out again to inquire about the status of the position. I was told that they have decided to proceed with other candidates who better meet the needs of the position. I'm not upset, only disappointed in myself.
