I was scheduled for a video interview, however something came up and I was scheduled for an in person interview. The interview was on site in the transition office on base (you need to have access). I was asked a few questions and given the opportunity to answer questions. Following the formal interview portion, I was able to talk with the people who were working there that day as well as the lady I would be replacing. They were very friendly and welcoming.

Telephone interview since the interviewer was located in a different area. Asked a bunch of behavior based questions and scenarios. I was asked to go to the local office to meet other employees on my personal time which I thought was strange considering they wouldn't discuss salary at all. Apparently they only discuss a salary after the offer is made which I think is a sneaky way to get people to waste their time interviewing then hitting them with a low offer. Stated a decision would be made by a certain day and everyone would be notified but I had to contact them after that deadline to check the status. Overall, the interview went well but I'm glad I was not offered a position because just within a small matter of time I felt this wouldn't be a good fit. Asking someone to take time out of their day to spend an hour with the staff without giving any insight on the "salary" and then not following up as promised on a specified day rubbed me the wrong way about the organization and their hiring tactics.
