I had a phone interview with (who would eventually be) my manager. It went great, we talked a lot about values, life goals, and more about who I was as a person than as a designer. I really liked this because it showed they were more invested in me as a person and knew that I would/could grow at their company. From there I had a three 30 minute zoom calls (I was on the East Coast interviewing for a West Coast job) with my manager and two of my team mates. We discussed what it's like to work there, we talked about the UX process and I showed them a great deal of my work and my in-depth process. Everyone was friendly and genuinely interested in me as a person which was so kind. A few days after that I was emailed an offer letter for the internship. I had an amazing time as an intern that summer and had created such a strong relationship with my team that we continued to chat even after I headed back to the East Coast to finish my senior year of school. I let them know I was interested in coming back after I finished school and they wanted me back so by mid November I was given an offer which I signed and started the following June! It was all very exciting and fun and just all around a great experience.
