      Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 3 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela ServiceNow (Sydney) em abr. de 2021

      Entrevista

      ServiceNow HR invited me to apply for an opening in their Security Team. The interview process seemed to be professional and transparent at first, but soon realiized that the process was broken. HR performed the phone screen and advised me that there will be 4 stages during the selection process. 1. one-on-on with the the hiring manager, 2. technical with a panel of interviewers, 3. situational interview with the hiring manager and a panel, 4. cultural fit test with the inline managers. All clear and professional till this point. I've been to many interviews in my career, but I have to say this was the worst interview processes I have ever experienced . The clue was in the Hiring Manager's comments, "ServiceNow is a very successful company but we do not have the right processes in place due to rapid growth, we're playing a catch-up game and we are the victim of our own success." ServiceNow grew to 45 Billion dollar company today, but possibly some old staff still acting like the staff from a small corner grocery store. First interview, one-on-one with the Hiring Manager went OK. He invited me to the next round with the technical panel interview. Second interview, HR sent the invitation for a panel interview with names of three people, including the Hiring Manager. When I got to the interview, the whole Team joined into the Zoom interview except one member. I thought to myself, "WTF, this is very strange." The manager said a panel of three and the whole Team showed up. Very unpredictable and unprofessional indeed. I could not recall a previous interview where the interviewer was this deceiving and cunning. The interview was for an hour and it was not a pleasant experience. I slipped on some questions so, I expected a knock-back after this interview. Also, I felt like the Hiring Manager was trying to hide a few things when I asked about their processes and documentation within the Team. Two days later, the HR contacted me again and said the hiring manager invited me back for the third interview with two other members and said this will be a 30 minute situation based interview. At this time I wasn't sure why the Manager invited me back to a situational interview, but promised to attend the situational interview. When I got to the interview, the whole gang was waiting for me again, this was again "WTF" moment. The interview format got changed on the spot and suddenly became a live hands-on and technical troubleshooting interview. They forced me to agree to participate in the troubleshooting and I got humiliated in front of the whole team for not being able to properly troubleshoot and correct the tricky Unix and Python scripting problems. This third interview left me a bad taste in my mouth and felt like the hiring manager and his team only invited me to make a mockery of myself. My final thought on the interview process, ServiceNow HR team was extremely professional and transparent during the process, but the hiring manager was unprofessional, deceiving and cunning. At the end of the day, my experience and skill sets was a mismatch to the hiring manager's wish list and I was not good enough for the position. Try to treat all your candidates professionally with honesty and transparency. There was no dignity in this interview process. This one will be hard to beat.
