      Entrevista

Boss posted a sign on the power poles near school, and our hangouts. Had to email him. He emailed back with a job desscription, and a form. Parents had to sign the description and the form if we were under 16. He then emailed me back, asking if I could come the next day after school. Starting time was aobut half an hour after school got out, so it was a short drive. There were a bunch of us there. That day we got a tour. He showed us a bunch of the jobs we would be doing. He also laid down some rules: No smoking at all. Smoke, and you're fired. No earbuds unless you are working alone. "I hire you guys to have someone to talk to while I work. Turnips with ear buds don't make for good conversation. He then said something like, "I could ask you a bunch of questions, but frankly I don't care. Most of you have zero work experience. This is where you start. If you've seen this, and still want to work email me tonight when you get home. Anyone who does gets hired for 2 hours later this week. THAT is your interview, and yes, you get paid for it. If you are a good worker, safe, good conversationalist, interested in everything, you can probably have as many hours as you want. You get apay raise when I see that I don't have to watch you all the time. You get another when I can give you a list of jobs, and you get them done, making reasonable decisions with problems. You get another when I can put a couple guys working under you.

      Pergunta 1

He really didn't ask any questions. After my first 2 hour stint, he asked questions all the time, mostly getting us to figure things out for ourselves. Like, one day we're moving trees with a tractor and trailer. He asks us: "What are the hazards?" Got us to realize that the tractor was heavy, and could crush us. That was a no brainer. But then he asked, "When I back up, where am I looking" then "How far in front of me is the bucket? then "If I turn left, backing, which way does the bucket move? Then, "Describe the danger zone around a moving tractor" He did this all the time, and it always started, with, "What are the hazards" The guy is a maniac about safety, but doesn't want you to memorize rules. He really wants you to understand why.
