It was pretty easy interview process. Did a zoom interview. Look up current news on the company and you'll pass. Pretty general questions. I would say about a little more than a week after the interview the recruiter called said everything was good and that they were going to send me an offer. I was super excited to start working for this company. After about 5 days I call the recruiter and I'm told they are working with their financial department on the variable bonus part of the offer. Ok great no problem. About another week goes by I call the recruiter again and was told their HR person had been sick and that's why I hadn't received the offer. The recruiter asks if I'm still good with the terms, I say yes. I inquire about the commuting stipend that is on their website page, as originally I had applied for one location and was offered a different location, which I agreed to. The recruiter says he wasn't aware of the commuting stipend and would check. A few days before the start date I was told I would begin, still no offer. I call and am told that I should have the offer shortly and that the start date will be pushed to the following week. I call today and I am told that they are passing? Once I was told I was getting an offer I had stopped the interviewing process with several companies and was even close to locking down a place to live closer to the work site. It is INCREDIBLY UNACCEPTABLE for a company to do this after they tell you they are going to send you an offer. I of course asked the recruiter for a reason. At first I am told some people scored better(but then why was I given an offer?), then I am told that they are not moving forward with any candidates for the location. Ultimately recruiter says they don't know and has no way of finding out. I ask if was passed on because I inquired about the commuting stipend. He tells me that's not the reason. Well what is the reason?!! What's more frustrating is the recruiter says this happens all the time. Well it's a first for me. Even more frustrating is the recruiter says someone they hired was suppose to start today, but turned down the offer so it goes both ways, I guess that was suppose to make me feel bad for them. It's hard to no what is the real truth. The root of the problem with this company seems to come down to communication. Recruiter asked me earlier in the call if I had heard from the person that was to be my manager(I hadn't and why would the person I interviewed with contact me? I thought HR takes care of notifying candidates). On paper this company looks great. I did a lot of research on this company prior to my interview. Reviews are mixed, but I like to give companies the benefit of the doubt. After this month long process I have to conclude SHIFT has a lot of issues internally. My advice is take the interview if you want practice, don't accept any verbal offers seriously, and really read the current reviews and decide if it's the job for you. A lot of the complaints in some of the reviews about long hours and being overworked are true. That was information I was told during my interview.
