The interview process with peer, manager, and head of design was pretty smooth and fun. We talked about various topics about product design and the design culture in Shopee. However, everything turned into my most painful and disturbing experience in my whole career history. One of the HR officers emailed me that I was accepted and they want to proceed to the offering process. Hence, they asked of my confidential information (payslip, etc.), which I shared and attached in the email. After that, the HR went ghosting for around 30 days. This disturbing attitude left me with no choice but to escalate this to the design manager. Finally, after the escalation, the HR called me saying that she's sorry because they are currently on a busy season. Oh btw, she was also wrongly mentioned my name with another candidate name. After a few days, she came back to me only to inform that they were ran out of working visa to give. Could you imagine how much time a candidate should sacrifice to went under 4 interviews and a design task only to find him/herself cannot get the working visa because of the company's quota? And in the end, I never got to see the offering letter, while they ran out with a confidential payslip average of their competitor. Smart job :) Definitely blacklisted on my list. Thanks for the painful experience.
