Then after that, the second round of the interview is 4 hours long where you do deep dive into what you worked on and 2 coding interviews. The coding interview was a relatively average question where you get to build a small web application for both of the coding interviews. My overall experience was ok.

First process is an easy coding exercise. In their recruitment page, they wanted the interviewee to think aloud to give the interviewer an idea of the applicant's thought process. Assuming that they value problem solving skills more than output. Even if you have the solution done (pseudo code/summary) but you haven't finished the implementation it would be an instant rejection. So I suggest to future applicants to just type in a straight forward console log output. Interviewer - was not engaged, and just talked when the time is up. No 5 minute warning. Was also not aware of the solution of the problem so they can't give you feedback when asked about the approach of your solution. Also talked about himself more than what a developer inside Shopify does.
