I got an email to submit my slot for an interview. The interview was great, and the interviewer was great. Didn't have any problems with the questions; they were reasonable and not difficult. However, I didn't make it past the first interview because the salary was too low for me.

Over the course of 2 weeks I met with two interviewers with vastly different interviewing styles. The first interviewer was smooth, engaging and kept up with my answers. She then told me they only interview on Wednesdays.. it was Wednesday so I'd have to wait another week to meet with a sales manager who was in a different time zone and not one I'd be interacting with. This interviewer was cold, asked me questions not pertaining to the job and even asked questions I had already answered with other responses earlier in the interview because she was not listening. It was very clear within the first 30 seconds she decided not to hire me. She told me they were growing their team from 9 to triple digits and that I would be hearing back from my first initial interviewer. 5 days pass and I get a rejection email saying they had selected another candidate. The entire thing felt like a waste of time and frankly the "always remote" culture seems to be at a loss at Shopify. I recommend you be very cautious when looking to work there.
