The first question I was asked was about my age. I was not expecting that kind of question and honestly, I don’t understand the relevance. I wish that at the time I was ready for it and answered it differently to it, as what matters is my experience and work level.
In many countries, it’s illegal to ask someone’s age at an interview and there’s a reason for it. Unfortunately, the work culture in Portugal has a long way to go.
