      Entrevista

Phone interview, then they call you in for a group interview. They cut the group interview down and do final interviews. You had to talk to a group of about 50 people and tell them about yourself. Then they made cuts and invited back who they liked. They asked a few more questions and then had us fill out paperwork about a backgound check. They called that same day and offered me the position.

      Entrevista

Perhaps it was an off day for the recruiter, but my overall perception of the company (or at least at this particular domicile) was not a positive one by the time the interview process ended. It started out with all applicants signing in and submitting a copy of their resumes. Each applicant was also asked whether or not they desired full-time, or part-time status as apparently there had been a glitch in the system that resulted in some applicants having been accidentally invited to the interview in the first place (i.e. A few external applicants had mistakenly applied for an internal company requisition number several months ago and were invited to this interview which was for external applicants only). Other applicants who had applied for both full-time and part-time were only invited to interview for one. Obviously it did not bode well when a couple of individuals were apologized to and informed they had to leave based on the mix-up/recruiter's error for accidentally inviting them (please note: this was after the applicants had already sat through an hour presentation of what Skywest was all about). For those who were "lucky" enough to stay, each applicant was asked to present themselves in front of the group, detailing their work history and explaining why they would be a good fit for the company. This part was actually enjoyable listening to everyone's stories though some individuals did ramble a bit. Afterward, the recruiter and General Manager had everyone take 15 minutes to give the time to create a schedule for one-on-one interviews that very same day. The one-on-ones lasted 15 minutes each. It was a pretty painless interview where they try to determine if you're a good fit and vice versa, however, unless you grill them on specific questions including shift schedules, work hours, pay scales, time off, et cetera, they will be as vague with you as possible giving you just as much information as they think you want to hear to potentially get you in the door (they emphasized travel perks all day). Two days later, they make the notification calls with job offers...

They go over a presentation about the company then split the room into groups. In the group they ask the same question about our career path to everyone. I passed that part and went on to a one on one with one of the recruiters. After the one on one interview, I was told that I did great and that he wanted me to join SkyWest. However, he would first have to "recommended me for hiring." He said the other two ladies in the same room doing interviews had the final say. What the heck?!!! I was told this was the final interview and based off that, a decision would be made whether or not to hire me, but if the recruiter interviewing me doesn't have that authority, then why am I wasting my time trying it impress someone who can't even hire me???? Nonetheless, I never got a call even though I aced the interview and have previous airline experience. I'm sure the other two recruiting managers simply chose people out of the group they interviewed and not me since I never really had a chance to make any sort of impression on them. It all just seemed unfair to me.
