Entrevista
The whole process was online because of covid and no one from Barcelona office participated, only people from the UK.
First I had a video call with HR to talk about my previous experiences, what I iam looking for and know more about the company. It was a good and easy talk.
The next step of the process are 2 hours of interviews: 1 technical, 1 cultural. They send some links to read about the company and how it works the selection process and II think it's very positive.
My first interview was the cultural one. It was with two interviewers. I was worried about not having examples for all the cultural values. But in the end they were very friendly and I think I could give examples about everything. They don't ask directly questions about a specific value. Ex: "tell me a situation when you had to bem empathetic with someone on the team". They'll ask you another totally different thing and you have to relate this with their value while give them the situation. But, as I said, they were very nice in this interview and it was cool.
The technical (Depth of expertise) I was supposed to lead the interview showing them a project or problem that I had to solve with examples of good practices, technical decisions and why. That's what they told me to do. I was excited with this interview because here at the company I work we have an open moment when candidates share a project and solutions and we discuss about them and candidates feel more comfortable talking about something they already know. So I was really prepared for this interview. I had some diagrams to show, some notes about every interesting thing and decision we took. But the experience was very frustrating here. The interviewer was an engineering manager, he started the interview with lots of questions. I answered them and mentioned that I was expecting to lead the interview and present the problem/solution. I could see that he had a list of questions and just wanted me to answer them. After half of the time answering the questions he said "you can show me the project now". I was very uncomfortable at this point, but started to share my screen and presenting the problem and solution. Less than 10 minutes talking he interrupted me and went back to his list of questions again. I couldn't show him almost anything that I prepared and didn't have opportunity to show the most interesting parts. During the questions he was very ironic and arrogant when I answered something that was not exactly what he was expecting.
When the interview finished I hoped not to pass because I didn't want to work with that person. Them they ghosted for 2 weeks then sent an automatic message saying that "we decided not to move forward this time".
The last stage would be more 2 hours of interviews with another cultural step and a system design.

Initial chat with recruiter - really responsive, helping to prepare as well. Following by video call with couple engineers, talking with them one by one. Pretty standard approach, nothing out of ordinary, main question for Full Stack devs is to describe/draw any system architecture you worked with.
