I initially interviewed for one senior product designer role but then that role was filled and there was another senior product designer role the head of product felt I would be a better fit for.
I had an initial screening call with the recruiter, followed by a 45 min call with the head of product, then an 1hr call with a product manager and ux researcher/designer. Finally I had a call with the manager of software engineering.
It was a very streamlined and efficient interview process which I really appreciated. I also really appreciated the fact that they did not have me undertake a design exercise which so many companies have you do now for designers roles and don't pay you for.
It was really a great experience and I wish more companies would such a well organized interview process.

I was really excited for the opportunity to interview with Slingshot, as I have had my eye on them for awhile. This position opened and I felt I was qualified so I applied. I got a pretty quick response from the recruiter asking me for some time for a 30 minute call. I do the call, and within 10 minutes it's done.
I'll say that I was REALLY disappointed in how well the recruiter sold the company to me. They asked me for my background and how I heard of the company. They asked if I was interviewing anywhere else...and that was it. No additional information offered about Slingshot, no additional information offered about what work they are doing. They just asked, "Ok. So do you have any questions for me?", So I had to pry out more about the job and what the position would be working on.
Another flag here was that they have one other Product Designer who is working on one product, and this position would be working on the second product. They stated that there would be no collaboration on both products between the product designers, which is highly odd for a team with only 2 product designers.
They asked if I could send them anymore examples of product design work, which I did. They told me they would get back to me shortly. I waited 2 weeks and reached back out to them for some information and to see if they needed anything more. It was only then that they told me the hiring manager looked at what I provided and decided not to move forward.
It's a bummer to be turned down for more interview time, but more of a bummer that I didn't feel the recruiter did a great job to actually sell the company to prospective employees. If I could give some advice it would be to at least talk more about your company and get candidates excited for the possibility of working there.
