First interview went very well. Had a hard time understanding what the position entailed. Second interview I met with this guy who did not seemed very experienced at interviewing candidates. It seemed that this program director position was there to “add structure” to the company which seemed to be code for: “we are very disorganized.”
I was asked to “prove I knew how to use Excel” by showing how to do a pivot table. It seemed to be a last minute question. When the guy didn’t know how to use the video conferencing app, he became upset with me for not being able to see a window on his computer that wasn’t being shared.
I did not get an offer even though the first interview was pretty promising and the lady even said I was a “perfect candidate” and we built good rapport.
I’m 90% certain that if this company is struggling with structure, I felt like I was set up by guy interviewing me in the second interview.
I hope they get their “structure” together because it seems like a great company in spite of the disorganization.
