Candidatei-me online. Fui entrevistado pela Smart (Londres, Inglaterra) em mai. de 2026
Entrevista
This company completely wasted my time and made me do a first stage interview and take home task as part of the recruitment process. They made me do a task knowing full well they had already chosen a candidate. They then proceeded to provide me with a generic rejection email. When I emailed and asked for more in depth feedback they ignored me. The actual first stage interview one of the interviewers was late and the second interviewer spent most of the time complaining about previous individuals who had been in that role than asking me about my experience.

They asked me how my project management experience linked to this role despite the fact that I had already been screened by talent acquisition.

Entrevista
I wanted to provide some constructive feedback on my recent experience interviewing with Smart, in the hope it may be useful for future candidates.
I initially applied for a role in September. The interview process took approximately one month, after which I was unsuccessful. However, I was told I would be a strong fit for an upcoming role and was encouraged by the team to remain engaged, as that position would be better aligned with my experience.
In December, I was contacted to say the role had been signed off, although interviews would not take place until January. I then proceeded through a further two interview stages, including one in London, which required a significant time and personal commitment. Throughout the process, I received positive verbal signals — including comments at interview that suggested I had performed well — which naturally created a reasonable expectation that I was being seriously considered.
Unfortunately, I was again unsuccessful, and on both occasions I received the same templated rejection email, word for word, with no constructive or role-specific feedback beyond the statement that other candidates were “more aligned.” Given the length of the process (around six months in total), the number of interview stages, and the level of engagement encouraged by the business, this felt particularly impersonal and disappointing.
While I fully understand that not all interviews result in offers, I do believe that lengthy, multi-stage processes — especially those involving travel — warrant more transparent communication and meaningful feedback. This would help candidates understand where they fell short and whether the encouragement to continue engaging was genuinely well-founded.
I remain appreciative of the time taken to interview me and the professionalism shown during the meetings themselves. However, I felt it important to share this perspective, as the overall experience did not reflect the level of care and candidate experience I would have expected given the time and effort invested on both sides.

A lot of questions were based on my current experience and how I could use the skills to the existing role
I am very sad to talk about my recruitment process cause... it never really started.
I applied to this position on May 16, received an invitation 3 days later for the first interview that was supposed to take place online on May 21... fast forward to that day, I waited for an entire hour with no sign of anyone, only to realize I got ghosted.
I followed up via email, which was answered two hours later (after I contacted the recruiter's coworker). I was asked if I was available the next day, which I confirmed, just to end up ghosted again.
There were a couple of more attempts to reschedule, but by then I had completely lost interest due to the unprofessional behavior.
Given the large number of positive reviews I believe that this was a one-off situation, but it still left me extremely unsatisfied and I feel disrespected of the time and effort that I invested.
