Recruiter setup the interview with sales engineer manager. The interview process went as planned till the end of the interview when I was given the opportunity to ask questions. The last question I asked “what kind of skills are you looking from an ideal candidate.” He paused for a second and said “well having deep hands-on experience how to optimize, tune, and debug SQL queries and be able to program in Python is a plus. Since you don’t have experience working with Python, you’re not a good fit.” The conversation ended there. “a plus” and “a requirement” is very different. Python was listed as “nice to have” on the job description. They should correct the description to not waste future candidates time. If you’re a sales engineer looking to apply at Snowflake, be cautious and read their reviews, know your Python scripting inside out and make sure you’re currently writing/tuning SQL queries as your day to day job role. They depend heavily on your capacity to do Python scripting for data loading (ETL), and tune SQL queries even when Snowflake DW promises little to no knobs are needed to tune or optimize their DW database.

Entrevista
The worst company I have ever interviewed with. They reached out to me 2 times (2 years apart), both times I received a written offer and when I followed up was told there was a pause on recruiting (the first time) and was ghosted the second. Not worth it at all. A fake company that pushes positivity only to treat people badly
