Straight-forward interview process. I was asked about my strengths and how I would approach the role I was interviewed for. I was also asked questions about the business model and the auction world.
First was a standard phone interview. Second round was a teams virtual interview with a manager. Third round was an in person interview with the LOB manager. Standard interview questions.

Entrevista
Contacted by a lead recruiter to "explore all opportunities at Sotheby's" after submitting my resume to an unrelated position. I had a lovely interview with the lead recruiter excited about my work history and my desire to pivot within the industry. She sets me up for an interview to join an executive team.
Then was onto the next round with a department GM for the role she scouted me for- had a great, comprehensive interview with her. Then made it to the second round with senior global department head -- who's team I would be joining. Had a lovely if short interview with him. Was told directly by him that he wanted me to meet with his back-end and administrative staff. A week goes by and I hear nothing from the HR coordinator to set up third round. Follow up with her to hear "it slipped through the cracks" and that a hire was done internally just the day before - profile heads back to senior recruiter.
The lead recruiter then puts me in touch with the a departmental recruiter which matches my profile to explore some things that might be a fit. I have a very detached interview with her, throughout the call she seemed bored. She sets me up to meet with a new executive hire for a new department -- this interview is rescheduled four times. The interview is garbled and incomplete due to a bad zoom connection on his end. I follow up with the departmental recruiter to see if we can do it again. I get a quick curt response saying that the position was filled and get no follow up from her about additional positions. I then go back to lead recruiter - she says that she will look into some things. I never hear back from her. This process took roughly four months with near constant back and forth.
Generally disorganized - there seemed to be a real lack of communication and follow through within the recruitment team. Was surprised that the new executive hire was not informed that I had met with other global department heads and had been interviewing for other roles within the organization. I truly felt both sheepish and speechless when right off the bat he asked me how I heard about the role - and I had to inform him that I had already met with his boss. Very odd. That, coupled with the poor connection made for a bad interview. It's too bad really, it would have been a great opportunity. I wanted to give everyone on the team the benefit of the doubt, but disorganization stymied the whole process.
I have since moved on, but this whole process stays with me and will inform my business dealings in the future. I don't think I will work with Sotheby's in any capacity moving forward.
