I received a call from HR past 7pm before a holiday weekend. They had seen my resume that I applied on their website over a month ago. When I asked more details about the role, he just said it's the role I applied on website. First question was salary expectation. I quoted the number ( median market value), he asked can I go lower. I was surprised that even without asking for past experience or credentials, he only was looking for someone who'll work at their already low budget. There was no attempt to find any insights about the candidate. I politely declined as this process was not off to a good start. Good luck finding talents with this process.
