Having an interview with the president of the company is a red flag. Going to a tiny office with minimal furniture is a red flag. First off, if you show enthusiasm to go all in, they'll hire you no questions asked. The presidents main objective is to hire someone to be another manager. She's been at it for about a year and hasn't done it yet so she'll hire anyone. Ask very critical questions to get the truth, they're literally selling the job to you by what they call "fugi factors" they make it seem like a million people want this job, and the opportunity is limited, and they act indifferent so you'll put more effort in for them. ( trust me, 29 out of 30 people who get hired quit within 6 months) don't let them away you emotionally.

Overall, it was a positive experience. Danielle was very friendly on the phone. She explained and was very honest about the position starting at entry level even though I previously had management experience and a business degree. I understand that everyone has to start somewhere, so I still wanted to meet with the President and get her take on the company. Lexa was very real. It was refreshing! She explained every detail of the position and you can hear the passion in her voice when she talks about it. They are growing a lot, which to me is a positive sign in these times, no matter what the company does! They have scored several huge retail partnerships and the names and products are quite impressive.
The schedule is reasonable for retail hours, although Lexa was upfront about it being a time commitment in the beginning.
The compensation is fair, especially for being entry level starting out. I know many other marketing firms do not offer a base pay, here they do. (I read the review below and would have to disagree with that opinion. They would not be growing if no one was making money besides the managers.) I met four employees throughout my interview process and they all seemed very excited to be there.
Yes, the second round interview is at one of the stores. I appreciated being able to see what entry level was all about and how the training worked. It's definitely a smart way to market products. They are not stalking people around the store, but just a casual chat with the customers about the products. It was smart and well trained.
Ultimately, Lexa and I decided I would not be the best fit. Though, I do think it was a great company and I loved the culture. I was just looking for a graphics position and they already have a Rep team to take care of it.
I did have an acquaintance apply and they are accepting a position here soon.

Questions were mostly related to personality, teamwork, training, management skills/qualities. A couple were pretty simple, but Lexa asked a couple that kept me on my toes!

Phone interview then we met in a Sams store to see how the job works and go through the poor salary scheme where you do all the hard work for peanuts while your boss takes all the benefits.

This is a very entry level job, demonstrating products in stores likes Sams. You are building brand awareness but you actually get paid for a small percentence of the sales you make of whatever product you are given. This job is not for anyone and is more of an entry level sales job than anything else
