I was contacted by the US HR representative for a position in North York. It seemed they wanted to hire for the position very quickly because the HR contact pushed me so hard to get in for an interview the week she called - I ended up having to cancel taking an elderly family member to their doctors appointment. That should have been the 1st flag.
So I went in for the interview with the hiring manager and it seemed to go great. However they were not organized and I prepared for the category the HR rep told me I was being considered for- but it turns out the position was for another category. 2d flag.
I was then told I’d be interviewed with the divisional head. She was also not Clear about which job I was applying to....after the interview, She basically told me I was the front runner for the position (3d flag - I wondered why I was being told this in an interview). She said the HR rep would contact me for the final interview with the VP of the division.
4th flag. I waited a week to hear back and then contacted the HR rep for scheduling. She never responded. So followed up (phone and email) three times - this HR rep and company could not even be bothered to have the courtesy to call or contact me.
By far - the most bizarre interview process I have ever been thru. I can’t believe a company this size had such an unprofessional interviewing and lack of communication process. If it’s like this for an outsider - I can’t imagine what it would be like working for Spectrum Brands in Canada. Glad I dodged that bullet!
