The interview process was typical for an mid-career position. I had a phone interview with their HR Recruiter, she pushed to get me an in-person interview that same week with the Site Manager, Controller, and VP of HR. The following week I interviewed with the Regional Manager and CEO. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, conversational style, and everything seemed to be going really well.
Following the final interview I emailed the HR recruiter to thank her and to request a copy of their Employee Handbook and Benefits, this is a normal question for anyone working in HR or management -- I never received the documents. The following week, the day after my birthday, I got a call from the HR Recruiter telling me that they were offering me the position, but they were working on the pay and start date, and wanted to make sure I knew I was getting the job (probably so I wouldn't take another in the meantime). I took that opportunity to remind her of the email I sent the previous week requesting the documents, she was hesitant, mentioned a non-disclosure agreement, then said she needed to first ask permission from the HR VP and would get back to me. Then nothing, no call, no email, no letter -- nothing to even state they were going another direction.
The end of the process was very disappointing, both as a candidate and as an HR professional.
