Completely demoralising candidate experience being interviewed by the General Manager of the Grand hotel in York (part of the splendid hospitality group). He has a shockingly rude, arrogant and dismissive communication style. Having been invited for a one hour zoom interview for a HR Manager position, he rudely closed the interview down after only 4 minutes by criticising my abilities to answer his first question satisfactorily and proceeded to tell me I was wasting his time. Strangely there was no other interview panel member present. Having worked in a senior HR role for many years, this unprofessional conduct was an absolute masterclass in how NOT to conduct an interview. He clearly has not had any interview skills training as his conduct had no regard or respect for the candidate. It is astounding that someone in a senior role would conduct himself in this manner. His behaviour is very damaging to the reputation of the splendid hospitality group. I would absolutely not recommend this company.
