Had a video chat with a very friendly recruiter who then scheduled an interview with the director of engineering who too was very friendly. I was then scheduled for a few more follow up interviews with members of the engineering team. The hiring process consisted of an advanced take home assessment and 3.5 hours of interviews with various employees at different levels of the organization. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. I aced the take home assessment and really put in a lot of effort to do so and they were impressed by my work. The company seems to have a good structure and a healthy work environment for those in engineering. However, my nerves got the better of me in the second rounds of interviews and I found myself forgetting basic syntax while still being able to solve the challenges they had set in front of me. You never know when the nerves can get the better of you so don’t go in blind and without first doing a few mock interviews. Overall, it was a good interview experience and though I did not receive an offer I understood why they came to the determination that they did. It’s difficult to reconcile knowing that I would be an invaluable asset to the organization whilst also understanding that my interview skills need work and to some degree I wish technical interviewers could look past those interview jitters. Regardless, they did the best with the information they had and I would recommend giving this company a shot.

The process was nice. I had only a conversation with a recruiter and decided to resign, but I had very good overall impression. The exercise task seems to be a good starting point for a tech interview.
