The first stage interview was more like an introduction to the company by the recruiter. I was not asked any question but didn't make it to the next stage. It was unbelievable because he told me on the call that he would arrange the next stage and send me an email.

I went through three rounds of interviews for a position. The first round was a DBA assignment, the second was a call with HR, and the third was a technical interview that lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes (comprising three technical interviews, each 30-45 minutes long). After the final round, HR provided positive feedback and mentioned that they would share the contract the following week. The next day, as requested by HR, I provided reference details for the background check. Everything went well for 2-3 days, and I also declined other offers as getting an offer from Sproty Group seemed like a better opportunity. However, two days later, I received an email from HR stating they would not proceed with the offer because their higher management did not approve it. The reason given was an objection regarding my tenure at my previous company. I had already explained at the beginning of the interview process that I was laid off from my previous role due to the company closing its branch office, which impacted many employees. I am confused as to why this issue was raised only after my selection, especially since I had already provided this information. This entire process ended up wasting my time.
