I love Spotify as a product, but sadly I was very disappointed with their internal process and teams. I had various Google Hangout interviews: One with the recruiter, next with two different hiring managers and one Product Designer. The hiring Managers were in Stockholm, they were were extremely professional, asked great questions about my work, leadership, etc… and they were super responsive via email. At this point I was feeling pretty optimistic about the process.
But when I was asked to come into their NYC office, to meet with 12 different team members - in one day! Things were not so peachy anymore. The onsite interview was extremely disorganized. Some of my interviewers were not engage, and uninterested about being there. Additionally, the Lead of the team was arrogant, and very rude through the entire process. As if he was forced to do the interview, very unprofessional.
Advice to Leader in Stockholm - Make sure you promote / hire the right people to lead and manage your NYC teams.
