Applied through a referral. First call was with a recruiter. Then we scheduled a phone interview. After that it was onto the onsite where I had one system design round, one coding / algorithms round, one front-end centered round, and a culture / values interview with the potential hiring manager. System design round was a typical system design question. Had fun just going as deep as I could with the interviewers. Coding round was a fairly hard and large question. Didn't think I did that well but I assume expectations were adjusted based on difficulty given that I got an offer. Front end round was a pretty fun question. Was able to get through it quite quickly so we ended up twisting the question and working on a harder version of it. Culture / Values round was nice. Beyond just asking situational stuff here they also were curious about how familiar I would be with agile / scrum and what our day to day continuous delivery process was at my current company. All in all the office was really cool and everyone I met with seemed very nice. Quick turnaround too -- I interviewed on a Friday, they informed me I would be receiving an offer that Monday.

Round one - phone screen with recruiter. Very standard content - questions about my background, experience, and what I was looking for in my next role. Round two - technical screen conducted over Skype. I was asked to solve a series (5-6) of small problems that tested Javascript fundamentals - closure, this context, event loop, etc. Some problems code I had to write from scratch, some I had to fix existing code so that it would run. Round three - technical onsite. 4 hours, with 4 1-hour interviews. There was one algorithm/data structure interview, one coding challenge interview, one system design interview, and one values/culture interview. The coding challenge was to use HTML/CSS/Javascript to make a traffic light. The system design question was to outline my approach for building a product like Twitter. The algorithms interview was a technical conversation about aspects/advantages/disadvantages of technologies I'd listed on my resume, followed by a whiteboard exercise. Round four - lunches with hiring managers Overall a positive interview experience - the recruiter was very transparent at each step about what was going to happen. I believe that they tailor the interview questions based on your experience to let you show them what you're good at already. The interview process took around a month and a half. In the end I did not receive an offer. The feedback was that, although I did well in all the interviews, it came down to years of experience between me and another candidate. I assume that since many people apply for roles here, you need to be a pretty competitive and well rounded candidate to be selected.
