Interview process started positively recruiter was friendly and moved to the first round. First round was also positive, but the interviewers lacked experience, at one point I had to explain to their senior frontend engineer how scopes work in JS. Then another round with an engineering manager which was the usual behavioural questions. the final round is a 5 hour long interview day and went as follows: System design: a really bad question about uploading playlist cover images so not even a file sharing system or something, the question doesn't have any depth and I felt the interviewers didn't know what a messaging queue is. algo interview: 2 very basic questions in java that you answer on coderpad case study: you will be presented with a network bug that happened at spotify 15 years ago, I didn't understand how a big company like spotify could ask something like that, we are in 2022. last is a behavioural interview: at one point I was asked about how I feel about working in a diverse workplace, the irony is I was interviewed by 12 different people, 11 of which are white and 10 male, so I didn't understand why they would talk about diversity. I got a response a week later saying that it was a tough decision and that they won't be proceeding further with my application, I can assure you the other candidate is white because that would fit their company culture perfectly. long story short if you are white this will be a perfect opportunity for you, if not I suggest to not waste your time.
