I applied online. Talent acquisition contacted me to set up time to talk. During that scheduled time, the internal recruiter was not prepared and did not know what position we were there for. The interview started with her asking me questions about Cash App and what features I thought are needed. I answered the question, but then had to pause and ask if this was a position for Square or Cash App. She took a second and then replied that she was confused and it was in fact for Square. She then asked a couple behavioral questions. After 10 minutes she was done and didn't leave me time for any questions. But with that said, she did move me forward into the next round to interview with the hiring manager. During the second interview, we spent 30 minutes talking about the position and answering questions. At the end, the interviewer mentioned that he was in fact not the hiring manager, but would be a peer. Through the entire process, it just felt confusing and that the team had not jointly prepared. I don't take that as a sign of the entire organization, but it definitely was not a great experience.
