I had an HR screening call of 30 minutes. They gave me a take-home assessment consisting of building a full working app with authentication, a database, CRUD functionality and Stripe integration, as well as solving 2 detailed technical customer support scenarios. I have 5 days to deliver this and I delivered it in 2 (Saturday and Sunday).
The recruiter explicitly told me the next step would be a hiring manager tech interview based on the take-home assessment.
I submitted everything and received zero acknowledgment from the recruiter. A few days later I received a generic automated rejection email with no feedback whatsoever.
I checked my GitHub repo traffic and my published app analytics — zero visitors. Nobody from the company seemed to have ever looked at my submission. I sent a polite follow up emails to the recruiter asking for feedback and clarification. It was completely ignored.
It's ok to reject a candidate if they don't meed your requirements. But to schedule a call and ask them to build an app for you just so that you ghost them without any feedback is just disrespectful. I understand you have lots of candidates and you can't reply to all of them, but once you schedule a call and you give them a task, at least have the decency to review the task and treat them like humans. This was just disrespectful. Avoid this company if you value your time.

Entrevista
Met with hiring manager and several folks from team 1:1, they were all fantastic folks. It was a very pleasant experience all around - not tons of unnecessary hoops to jump through which also dialed in to what they were looking for, nothing bad to say at all about the process. Ended up not being right fit for personal reasons, but they seemed as if they were on a high growth path and a building a very successful business.
