The interview process at Starling had a few stages. First, they screened my CV and invited me to upload a video answering some behavioral questions. After that, I had a take-home technical test where I had to develop an API, which took a few hours. Next, I had a technical interview where they asked some basic computer science questions and went through my take-home task with me. The final stage was a behavioral interview with a lead engineer and an HR rep. The interview was going really well with the engineer, but the HR person joined about five minutes late and didn’t seem very interested, which was a bit off-putting. After about a week, I got a call saying they had chosen another candidate. The whole process took around 2-3 months.

An initial screening one way video interview. Then a take home test, Then a technical interview, then a final interview. Technical interview consists of reviewing take home test and talking through it, and then answering system design and database questions.
