Entrevista
I interviewed for a customer service position with Agency Owner - John Cho in Oceanside; which in actuality was an Agent position because you are selling insurance policies. It started with a phone interview that was fairly quick and straight forward. I was told I’d hear back within a few days and it was a couple hours. I spoke with the agency owner and stated I had my P&C license but not life or health. Previously I had applied and was told they aren’t interviewing further without an insurance license. Even though the job listing said it was a bonus and not a requirement. It was in fact a requirement. So that was misleading. I was asked questions about life insurance after already stating that was not my area of expertise and at my previous insurance job, I referred people. I didn’t speak on life insurance as we weren’t allowed to without being licensed. I thought it was unprofessional to ask me questions in an area I had very little knowledge in. Yet I wasn’t asked any questions in the areas I did have knowledge in. The second interview went well despite all of that and I was asked to do a 3rd interview the same day as I was being contacted a few days later. I did not have availability that day and offered alternative days and to work around the agency owners schedule. I was then denied that interview as they said they were moving on to other applicants. I think it’s incredibly unprofessional to ask me to do an interview and then turn me down just because I couldn’t meet on demand with very little time in advance. If that’s how applicants are treated, I can only imagine how employees are treated. I would not recommend interviewing with this agency as the owner will talk down to you and will expect you to prioritize everything they ask without regard for what’s best for you. There has been plenty of other agency owners who have been accommodating and asked appropriate questions based off my work experience. 1 out of 5 stars, would not recommend.

To speak about the different forms of life insurance and how they relate to real world applications. Questions that they knew I had zero experience in.

This was a quick, 5-minute interview which may be followed by an interview with the person who runs the particular office I applied for. The interviewer sped through a series of questions that were not hard to answer, unless one is inclined to try to blow smoke at the interviewer.

The first step was to send a video of myself with answers to questions that have been previously emailed. I am not sure about the next steps because it didn't go further.
