The first is a one-on-one technical case study where you’ll be prevented with information on a hospital case study. You’ll have to use a calculator to understand the changes in costs for hospital admission between two different sets of people (normal adults and the elderly). You’ll have time to look over the sheet and answer a question, then an interviewer will come in and ask questions. Don’t think he’ll just stick to the same question you were asked initially. During your prep time think about how they might ask different questions or spice up the information presented. They’re looking for an adequate understanding from you, and clear explanations on how you thought through the problem. If you get flustered, be honest with them or ask them to repeat their initial question! Finish off the case study by mentioning something you found interesting to show (even if you weren’t able to successfully complete all the questions asked) that you thought the case study was interesting and have a high-level understanding. The second is a one-on-one interview in which the interviewer will ask you about your biggest failures (quite a strange question), what makes you tick, and why you applied to the job. The interview is very informal so I wouldn’t worry about overpreparing for this. You need to be honest with your interviewer, have a good question or two prepared, and show a genuine interest in working for Newton. Make eye-contact & ask how they’re doing. I also suggest finishing the interview by asking if they have any apprehension about any aspects of your application! Now’s the time to address them, so it’s not a bad question to ask! (You may even throw them off slightly).
