The initial outreach was prompt and friendly, suggesting an organized recruiting process. Unfortunately, that impression didn’t last long.
I had a scheduled phone screen, but the recruiter never showed. After waiting, I followed up via email and was told that “time got away” — understandable, life happens. I provided new availability as requested, but then… silence. A week later, I received an automated rejection email cheerfully stating how much they “enjoyed learning about my experiences.” Ironically, that would’ve required actually speaking with me.

I went through a screen call and 4 rounds, each with progressively higher-level people. After each interview, I did 15-minute debrief calls with the recruiter. There was also a personality test. During the process, interviewers were nice and a few even connected with me on LinkedIn. Two of my four interviews were canceled and rescheduled due to conflicts on their end. After a time period of 2.5 months, I was ghosted, no response to multiple follow-ups asking for a status update.

Storck has a very thorough interview process, which I enjoyed. It is clear they have high expectations for you as a candidate and I had no issue with that. After 5 rounds of interviews with 8 people and following up with recruiter for weeks, I received an impersonal automated rejection. I would think twice before spending the time on their interview process, because they do not seem to have the same high expectations for themselves. A company like Mars at least gives you a phone call after making it so far in the interview process. Lots of great companies in Chicago who will treat you with more respect as a candidate and I would encourage people applying for jobs to look at those companies over Storck.
