I was contacted first about interest in a potential pivot to starting as a Technical Recruiter. It sounded interesting and after a short phone interview I was scheduled for a Zoom interview later that week with my initial contact and the President of the company.
The interview went well. I was shown what I would be doing and expected behavioral questions were answered. I was told that the position was mine "to lose" but to take the weekend to think things over and the ball was in my court to reach out on Monday to move forward. They, would also take the weekend to think about it, but, the way we left things I felt confident.
I emailed on Monday, as requested. Later in the day I was told they decided not to move forward since my prior experiences weren't exactly what they were looking for.
I was extremely disappointed as it wasn't even a position for which I had submitted an application. THEY contacted me. I felt that they should have noticed before even reaching out to begin with.
