While everyone throughout the process was friendly and it was easy to tell they enjoyed working for StreetLight; the process is long and unnecessary for what is essentially a technical support position.
After an initial HR phone screen there were a total of five interviews scheduled. One with direct supervisor, two with peers, one with another manager, and then a final panel interview to present an assignment.
It was clear that within the first few minutes of the peer interviews that there was no internal communication about candidates as I was asked the same questions from the first round all over again. Which seemed odd if the culture is such that "we want to make sure you pick us as well as us picking you"; one would think there would be more care here.
After the first interview, the next step is an assignment which requires knowledge of their product to answer completely. This requires watching about two hours worth of training videos for a platform that you may never see again. Essentially, you're tasked with doing some on-the-job training without having the actual job.
Overall, the entire process should have been slimmed down. It took several weeks to complete the steps and get all interviews scheduled. While I enjoyed meeting the people who interviewed me and the pay for this position is above what you'd expect, the feeling that my time was wasted will be the only thing I remember about this company within a few weeks time.
Initial interview with talent team was great. Very informative of the culture and values of the company and very personable. Correspondences before initial interview and for subsequent interviews was quite sporadic and not very trust inspiring. Second interview felt as if the interviewer had not prepped at all. Third was ok.
