The interview process began with a video screening that was oddly inappropriate at first. During that video call, I was questioned by someone who seemed disengaged but assured me that they were attentive despite looking at different screens during the process. Either way, it was distracting and conveyed confusion around how my responses were received. For nearly 2 months thereafter, I was ghosted. An email response was finally sent, saying "although your experience is impressive, we have chosen to work with a staffing agency to select a candidate whose background and experience is more closely match our needs for this particular position." Literally, with that exact grammar.
