I had one short/simple interview before I got a call from someone in their HR department who offered me the job. She did not know what job she was offering me, or how much money they were offering me. Eventually I accepted the position and then they said that they wanted to conduct a background check before I could start. After almost two months of waiting and being the middle man between the background check company and the HR department (the HR department was incredibly unhelpful), they rescinded their offer without explanation. I had no reason to believe I would not pass the background check as I have no criminal record, my resume was 100% accurate, and I have good references. I am moving to NYC in two weeks and now have to start my career search over again despite having multiple offers two months ago- very annoying.
